Paranoid Android Films and Obliquebleak Films are delighted to announce the feature debut of award-winning filmmaker Tiago Teixeira.
CUSTOM is a paranoid horror thriller, blurring the lines between death and sex, reality and fantasy. Jasper and Harriet are arthouse pornographers working on custom erotic films and struggling to make ends meet. That’s when they encounter ‘The Audience’, a mysterious client offering life-changing money to perform strange rituals on videotape.
Our protagonists are played by Abigail Hardingham and Rowan Polonski. Abigail is a fearless actress with a host of UK & International TV roles including The Missing, The Innocents and 12 Monkeys, and was most recently seen in the latest series of Netflix hit show You. Genre fans will recognise her as one of the stars of cult hit Nina Forever. Rowan joins us fresh from a stint with the Royal Shakespeare company. He has featured in movies such as Kingsman, Tomb Raider (2018), and TV shows such as Doctor Who.
Director Tiago Teixeira is known on the horror scene for his shorts ACORDE, DOG SKIN and WRONG NUMBER which have played festivals worldwide. ACORDE won the Depict award in the Encounters Festival and got a limited theatrical distribution by the BFI.
This will be Paranoid Android Films third film, following from Graphic Desires and Punch.
Producer Andy Edwards says, “Once I read the script for Custom, I knew it would fit perfectly with the Paranoid Android slate – it’s dark, it’s original, and with Tiago at the helm it’s going to be visually stunning too.”
